What is Microblading?Microblading is a new and updated semi-permanent make-up technique. Also known as micro pigmentation 3D bows or feather brows . It is done manually with a sterile disposable blade that deposit Pigment into the top layer of the skin. The results are very natural and realistic, giving the brows a natural, fuller look. The result can last up to 1-3 years , depending on skin types, after which the pigment fades leaving the skin and your natural brows exactly as they were.
-
What is Ombré Shading?Ombré Microshading technique is also a semi- permanent makeup technique, lasting a little bit longer than Microblading. It is done using either an SPMU machine or a manual tool, creating a soft, powdered effect that resembles eyebrow powder. This technique is perfect for clients who wear makeup daily and want the perfect Eyebrow shape.
-
What is Ombré Microblading? It is the perfect way to give your microbladed eyebrows the shadow behind the hairstrokes with a powder effect. It's the #1 choice for clients looking for realistic brows with the perfect shape. This technique helps clients camouflage unevenness of the eyebrows ( e.x: one side has more hair than the other, no eyebrow tail, scars...) or those who have unwanted old tattooed eyebrows.
-
Will I need a touchup?Within the first two weeks of the initial procedure, 30-40% of the color fades and the eyebrow might look patchy and uneven. After this period, typically between 4-8 weeks, a follow-up procedure is performed. The touch-up process takes less time than the initial procedure.
-
How long does SPMU last? The results can last between 1 to 3 years. Although many factors can affect this time frame, such as the client's type of skin, proper after-care of the brows, and many other external environmental factors (i.e., sun exposure). It is recommended to have a touch-up procedure done annually to retain the proper shape and saturation of the pigment.
-
Does it hurt?Pain tolerance varies among individual clients. To reduce the discomfort that may be experienced during the procedure, numbing products are applied before and throughout the pigment implanting process.
-
Is it safe?Absolutely! Sterile and single-use supplies are provided for each client.
-
Will I have swelling?Minimal swelling may occur along with slightly red skin in the treated area. However, with proper after-care, clients can reduce post-procedure effects.
-
How long does the procedure take?Procedures are estimated to take two hours but may be longer or shorter depending on the SPMU service(s) requested. More accurate time estimations will be provided during the consultation.
-
Do I need to take a day off of work? No. Clients may resume normal activity following the procedure. Redness typically alleviates within 1-2 days. Any activities which do not violate the after-care guidelines are okay!
-
How long does it take to heal?Healing time varies for each individual. Taking about 7 to 10 days for the epithelial crust to form and dead skin to shed. Your skin will be considered healed after the shedding stage. A month should pass before the procedure is considered complete.
-
What is the process like? The SPMU process begins with a consultation stage to identify each client's desires. After which, the procedure appointment is scheduled. Each procedure can take up to two hours (if more than one area is requested; i.e., brows, lips, eyeliner). Once completed, the client is provided with after-care instructions to help ensure the best results.
-
What can't I do after the procedure?Clients are advised to keep the skin clean and dry – that means no swimming, sweating, getting the area wet, tanning, having prolonged sun exposure, picking, peeling, scratching, or rubbing the area. These actions may attribute to the loss of color and scarring. Washing hair and face may still be done, as long as the brows are not entirely submerged in water. Once they have completely healed, clients are free to enjoy their SPMU fully.
-
How do I extend the life of the procedure?Eyebrows will remain beautiful and last much longer if sun block is applied regularly and any abrasive facial treatments on the brow area are avoided.
-
What color will I get?Best discussed during the consultation stage. Clients most commonly choose to mimic their natural brow hair.
-
Do I have to shave off my eyebrows?Absolutely not! Every attempt is made to retain all-natural eyebrow hairs and integrate the semi-permanent design naturally. In some cases, where shaping of the natural brow is required, a few hairs here and there may need to be removed to create a clean and aesthetically pleasing result.
-
I already have my eyebrows tattooed/microbladed and I want to change them. Can you help?SPMU corrections can be provided to the shape, color, or both. In most cases, a removal and color/shape correction is needed before new pigment can be applied. The process requires multiple visits.
-
I have heard that some clients don't retain pigment after several visits. Can this happen? These occurrences are infrequent and depend on a couple of factors. Typically clients who have skin cells that repair very well will see fading quickly in general. Artists who do not implant the pigment deep enough also cause the phenomenon of "not retaining pigment."
